Helen Beale: Never at Sea

With the days getting shorter, why not pop into East Grinstead Museum and discover the story of Helen Beale?

Helen Beale, who lived at Standen, played an important part in the Womens Royal Naval Service (WRNS). The WRNS played an important role in the First World War, with women serving as everything from cooks to clerks. As a result, Helen’s own story shows the exciting role she played in the organisation.

The Museum and the team at Standen have worked closely together to create this small exhibition. This display forms a taster to Standen’s own exhibition about Helen which runs until November.
