Peter Pollard will be talking about his Father’s working life in Coatman’s Grocery store, where he worked as a Shop assistant, then Manager to Owner, with a Wartime break in the Thames Fire Service.

Coatmans Store was one of several Grocery shops in the town, and  was considered one of the best having many wealthy customers.It was on the site of the current Pizza Express on the High Street
