An informal but informative talk on the history of smuggling in England from the late 13th century to the end of the ‘Golden Age’ in Kent and Sussex by the mid-19th century. Discover a tale of owlers and flaskers, cats and dogs, vast quantities of gin and a nice cup of tea.
About the Speaker
Antony Smith is the Custodian of the Priest House, in West Hoathly.
The talk will take place at East Grinstead Museum. It will follow current government guidance on the COVID 19 Pandemic to limit the spread of the virus.
