Ashdown Forest, and how it was saved for the Nation

Ashdown Forest, and how it was saved for the Nation by The Ashdown Forest Research Group

The Ashdown Forest Research Group will be delivering this interesting talk about the Ashdown Forest, which is located to the south east of East Grinstead. Famous for being the home of Winnie the Pooh, this talk will cover the forest’s history from Kings to Smugglers.

The talk tells the story of how, in the 1980s, the Forest avoided being broken up by sales of the land.   Thanks to both the hard work of the Friends of Ashdown Forest, and famous names like Christopher Robin Milne and Dirk Bogarde, it was preserved for future generations.

The talk will take place at East Grinstead Museum.

Tickets are £5.

Tickets can be ordered from Eventbrite, please use the Book Online Button below.

If you book, and then are unable to attend, please get in contact with the museum as soon as possible, so we can offer your tickets to others.
