The Collection
Images
The museum has 14,000 images consisting of glass plate negatives, transparencies, postcards, negatives and photographs of all sizes. Approximately 50% have been digitised and can be viewed on the computer in the Museum's Research Room.
- Visitors are welcome to search through our computerised catalogue and view pictures on the datebase. You can purchase an A4 copy of any image on photographic paper at a cost of £5.00. Contact the museum for details.
Our image collection is very comprehensive covering a variety of themes and events:
- Photographs of the May Fair 1979 and other years
- Photographs of the restoration work of St Swithun's
- Transparencies of East Grinstead Pottery Works
- Photos taken by Harold Connold, Malcolm Powell and other local photographers
- A large selection of images of various locations
As well as covering East Grinstead, we have images that show the surrounding area.
